About Artist:
A mother of 5, lifelong artist, painter and master of all things cementous, through a process of trial and error I have developed a technique of "painting with concrete." My pieces are constructed of roughly 1/2" solid fiber reinforced colored concrete. I love concrete, it is a unique medium allowing people to touch and interact with the pieces without fear of damaging them and the bright colors fantastic textures begged to be touched! Passion for Art, Color and Concrete!
About Artwork:
The Harvest Moon of fall is always a special time and on this evening it hung esecially large in the night sky. Our area of the Pacific Northwest had been plagued with wild fires during the fall of that year and the haze left the moon with a bright orange glow. I loved the brightness of the colors and always inspires me to translate an image into concrete. This piece was the first in which I carved into the form material so that the tree branches had the texture of the bark they were to resemble and it gives this piece a three demensional quality.
